The European Poker Tour
September 29, 2022The European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of tournaments based in Europe. Its first event was held in Barcelona. Alexander Stevic won EUR80,000 at that event, and finished third in the Grand Final held at Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. In the second season, the tour moved to Baden, Austria, and eventually to Vienna, Austria.
The European Poker Tour is held annually in a different city throughout Europe. It has prize pools of millions of euros, and is broadcast live on television and the internet. The tournament is hosted by some of the biggest names in the poker world. Among them are Michelle Orpe, Natalie Pikhman, and Caroline Flack.
The EPT is one of the biggest televised poker tournaments in the world. It draws professionals and amateurs from all over the world. However, the buy-in for the EPT event is not affordable for all players. Fortunately, the EPT’s satellite tournaments are a great way to get into major tournaments.
The buy-in for an EPT event has grown significantly over the years. In 2004 the tour held seven events, costing EUR1,000 each. Since then, the tournament has grown to rival the top events held in the United States and attracts some of the biggest names in poker from around the world. Currently, there are four EPT events being held in four different cities in Europe.
The European Poker Tour has seen its fair share of incidents. In the fourth season, a robbery took place in the EPT Berlin event. However, the suspect eventually surrendered to the authorities. A year later, the EPT will return to Prague to continue its tour. The robbers are currently sentenced to three years in prison.
As part of the European Poker Tour, PokerStars has done a great job of making sure players are taken care of. The players are kept in nice hotels close to the venue, and they are given bus transportation from their hotel to the casino. The event also features a ladies event, with a EUR300 buy-in.
The EPT Malta Festival will take place in March from 18 to 28. It will feature six “Flipout” tournaments and four EUR1,000 buy-in EPT Stud Championship events. The schedule includes events for junior, senior, and ladies. The Portomaso Casino has a reputation for being a top venue for large-scale tournaments.
